Chris helps identify, lead, and grow new company creation oppor­tu­ni­ties for DCVC Bio. He partners with premier founding scientific teams from academia and industry to launch new ventures, especially therapeutic platform companies in the biotechnology space.

Prior to joining DCVC, Chris was Managing Director at Golden Pine Ventures, a venture capital firm he co-founded in 2004. At Golden Pine, Chris launched and ran six start-up biotech­nology ventures spun out from major univer­si­ties across the eastern United States. Before Golden Pine, Chris was Director of Corporate Alliances at Paradigm Genetics, a public biotech­nology company, where he led business development efforts for both the healthcare and agriculture businesses. Earlier, Chris worked at Purdue University, where he managed the out-licensing of Purdue’s biotech­nology and life sciences portfolio. Over the course of his career, he has led nego­ti­a­tions for more than 100 fully executed deals. Chris received his MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, and his bachelor’s degree in chemistry with a biochem­istry emphasis from the University of Utah.
