Joe has a passion for investing in people building at the intersection of machine learning and industry. Specifically, he is excited by products and platforms that leverage advances in computer vision, natural language processing, and reinforcement learning to transform stagnant sectors and legacy business models. Working closely with DCVC’s general and operating partners, Joe identifies, pursues, and conducts due diligence on early- and growth-stage investment opportunities..
Joe started his professional career at United Technologies, where he gained exposure to the aerospace and defense sector. Later, while working at global data center and interconnection provider Equinix, he witnessed firsthand the impact of the platform shift to cloud. Most recently, Joe worked at Union Square Advisors, a boutique investment bank in San Francisco, where he advised premier software companies on mergers and acquisitions.
