Matt focuses on helping companies in the defense, intelligence and space industries grow through strategic advice and introductions. He strives to assist the defense and intelligence sectors in achieving their objectives and to advance global security through the use of cutting-edge technologies.
Before joining DCVC in 2020, Matt held a number of leadership roles in the satellite, digital mapping, and intelligence industries. He founded GeoEye, a leading global provider of satellite and aerial imagery and digital mapping information, which went public in 2006 and was sold to DigitalGlobe in 2013. He was CEO of OneWeb from October 2015 to July 2016. Matt holds a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in classics from Trinity College.
Matt has served on many government and industry advisory panels, including the Interior Department’s National Geospatial Advisory Council and NOAA’s Advisory Committee on Commercial Remote Sensing.
