Steve is an entrepreneur and investor who is actively engaged at the intersection of AI and biotech. He’s an SAB member at Danaher and a board advisor at quantum error correction company Riverlane.
Prior to joining DCVC, Steve helped GSK to build out their AI organization focused on early discovery. Before that, Steve led the product team responsible for putting British AI research laboratory DeepMind’s technology into Google, and was a founding member of DeepMind’s AlphaFold team. In addition to his work at DeepMind, Steve spent several years at Google working on Google Maps, Gmail, and Google Search. Steve received a master’s degree in computer science from University College London and his undergraduate degree in history from the University of Oxford.
