Supporting the next cloud era in telecom
Founded in 2012, Apcera created Continuum, a Platform-as-a-Service that allowed customers such as telecommunications providers to deploy and manage workloads in the cloud while still enforcing business and IT policies. Ericsson acquired a majority stake in Apcera in 2014 and gradually integrated the company’s technology into its own edge computing services, which lower latency in 5G networks by moving computing and storage resources closer to end users.
