Kristen focuses on climate and industrial innovation, investing in technologies that reduce emissions, enable adaptation, and modernize foundational industries critical to the global economy.
Prior to joining DCVC, Kristen focused on climate investing as a Principal at Unovis Asset Management in Amsterdam, where she led frontier-tech investing for the firm with a focus on synthetic biology and was a core contributor to raising a €150 million fund. She was also a Principal at Atlantic Labs in Berlin, leading frontier-tech climate investing. Before investing, Kristen worked across the energy sector in product development for nuclear, utilities, and automotive applications, and corporate sustainability and operations, and later transitioned to operations and sustainability consulting for international corporations. Kristen was the first hire at the startup Novameat, where she led growth strategy and fundraising efforts. Kristen holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from McMaster University with a specialization in polymer materials and manufacturing and an MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona.
Outside of firm activities, Kristen guest lectures at IESE Business School and serves as a mentor for several climate-related accelerators. Her research has been published in the journal Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy.
