Stephen draws on his experience as Founder of One Defense — a consulting firm that accelerates the transition of emerging technologies into the defense industrial base — to focus on investments in dual-use technologies.
Stephen has worked in the national security sector since 2001, with leadership roles at an AI growth-stage company, a global defense corporation, and various U.S. government assignments — including operational service in Colombia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Afghanistan. He serves as a board member, advisor, or observer to more than a dozen venture-backed companies, has directed two Atlantic Council national security commissions, and chairs Booz Allen Hamilton’s Defense Technology Board. He holds a master’s degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University, and is a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
