Vandon helps identify and support transformative companies across computational biology, healthcare, robotics, compute, and advanced materials.
Before joining DCVC, Vandon established an advisory business focused on proprietary deal opportunities spanning equity investments, asset in-licensing, and business development partnerships. He also organized healthcare-focused investment vehicles backing early-stage startups. Vandon holds a PhD and a master’s degree in bioengineering from Stanford University, where he developed computational tools to study immune cell-behavior and co-authored research published in Science, Cancer Cell, and other journals. He also earned bachelor’s degrees in physics and biomedical engineering from the University of Minnesota.
Born and raised in Minnesota as the son of refugees from war-torn Vietnam, Vandon brings a deeply personal appreciation for resilience and opportunity to his work with founders.
