Reprograming protein-protein interactions to unlock new small-molecule therapies for cancer, autoimmune disorders, and other hard-to-treat diseases
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a familiar technology that reveals structure in the brain or other parts of the body by mapping the location of water molecules and fat. Its lesser-known cousin, magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS), uses the same non-invasive methods — magnetic fields and radio waves — to scan small regions for the concentrations of chemical metabolites, including those known to be elevated in cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. BrainSpec is building a cloud-based system for sharing, viewing, and managing MRS data, giving more doctors access to “virtual biopsy” results.
