Using AI, robots, and autonomy to reduce the frequency and severity of wildfires

First Investment: 2025

In a warming climate, wildfires inflict greater damage every year, amounting to at least $400 billion in damages annually in the United States. Suppressing wildfires rapidly, before they spread, would be the most obvious way to protect people, property, and ecosystems. Seneca is building quadcopter drones that carry hundreds of pounds of Class A firefighting foam and can autonomously target fires using IR sensors and video. They’re designed to be deployed and piloted by firefighters to help defend valuable property, manage prescribed burns, and target hot spots before they become blazes.
