Smartex

Defects are common in textile manu­fac­turing, but are difficult to spot by eye. Smartex builds arrays of high-resolution cameras that scan fabric as it emerges from a circular knitting machine. Machine-learning software detects defects such as lines or strips, allowing operators to stop a machine before a whole production run is ruined.
