Owners of cryp­tocur­ren­cies and NFTs typically store their assets in a myriad of Web3 wallets protected by PIN codes, private keys, and seed phrases. If the owner dies or is inca­pac­i­tated, there’s no established infra­struc­ture for passing custody along to an heir, as there would be with a conven­tional bank account. Vault12 makes a mobile app that provides NFT or cryp­tocur­rency owners with decen­tral­ized backup of their Web3 assets, as well as the ability to assign ​“guardians” who will transfer the assets to a beneficiary in the event of the owner’s death.
