As radioisotopes decay, they emit radiation and heat that’s crucial for medical imaging, cancer treatment, space-based power systems, and many other applications. The problem is that most radioisotopes are produced in outdated reactors, many located in other countries. Atomic Alchemy builds specialized reactors to produce medical radioisotopes and recover unique radioisotopes from used reactor fuel — creating onshore supply to meet the growing demand. The company has inked agreements with two other DCVC-backed companies: it was acquired by Oklo in 2025 and will supply radioisotopes to Zeno Power.
