Pri works with founders pushing the boundaries of quantum technologies — including computing, sensing, and networking — to turn breakthrough science into transformative businesses.
An accomplished quantum physicist and innovator, Pri brings over 15 years of technical leadership expertise to DCVC. Since 2022, she has been a Professor of Physical Sciences and of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UCLA, and previously served on the faculty at Harvard University and as a research scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She earned her master’s degree and PhD from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). Her research group, the NarangLab, works across areas of photonics, next-gen computing, and quantum information science.
Pri is an elected Fellow of the American Physical Society and has received numerous honors, including the Guggenheim Fellowship in Physics, the Maria Goeppert Mayer Award, the Bessel Research Award from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, and the Max Planck Award from the Max Planck Society. She was named a Moore Inventor Fellow by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and a Top Innovator by MIT Technology Review. From 2023 to 2025, she served as U.S. Science Envoy, promoting international collaboration and U.S. leadership in quantum science and technology. She has held policy, technology, and national security-facing roles and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Caltech and the Science Advisory Council of arXiv. Outside the lab and the boardroom, Pri is a dedicated endurance athlete, competitive marathoner, and high-altitude mountaineer.
